101 on Smokey Eyes

The look is refined and classic. A smokey eye is sexy on everyone and is good for all occasions. Whether you’re going out for a party or just a small get together, a smoky eye is the perfect way to look good. No matter what your eye colour may be, the smoky eye will work for you. You may have to adjust the makeup a little bit to match your eye colour, but you will not be disappointed as long as you have the proper experience. No matter if you buy expensive or drug store makeup, you should find that the smoky eye is easier than some are lead to believe.

Now, it’s time to decide on what colours would suit your eyes:

Brown Eyes-

Brown eyed beauties have a lot of colours to choose from. They could use anything from bronze to blue. Pale purples, beige, gold, peach, pink, champagne, greens, blues, coral, copper, orange or even plum could be the accents you need for your smoky eye. Stick to the main colour of black for your smoky eye for sure.

Blue Eyes

Ladies with blue eyes have quite a few shades that they can pick from as well, but not nearly as much as people with brown eyes can. Something that many people believe is that blues are right for blue eyes, but this is false. Unless you’re using a dark blue, you shouldn’t have blue on. Shades of grey, brown, orange, taupe, purple, violet, and silver also look brilliant on someone with blue eyes. Dark colours will make light eyes pop so keep that in mind. You can use either dark grey, black, or dark blue for your main colour in your smoky eye.

Green Eyes

Ladies with green eyes really have to pay attention to their skin to make most of their decisions with makeup, unfortunately. They cannot use a lot of colours with their eyes. Most people with green eyes can use colors like brown, red, beige, purple, and pink. Also, light greens look very good with green eyes and make them pop, but avoid dark green. You can use black or dark brown as your main colour in your smoky eye.

A quick tip when doing a dramatic eye is to make sure that your eye shadow is well blended. Always use a blending brush that has a soft, fluffy brush head to provide a gentle application of colour to soften harsh lines or apply a transition colour to the crease this will help you master this look, I personally use and love Mac’s 217 Blending Brush. Lastly, this dramatic eye looks great when paired baby pink or even a nude lip. I always say it’s just makeup— it will wipe off. So have fun and experiment!

Review: Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara

Okay, I must admit I’m a sucker for cute packaging when I’m buying makeup. In the past I have used and loved Doll Lashes mascara from Lancome. When I went to go repurchase this mascara I ended up getting Hypnose Star, I just liked the sparkly “ombre” tube more than the doll lashes. So silly, I know.

I would say I’m kind of a mascara fiend, and at this point in my endless quest for the perfect mascara, this is the closest I’ve come. I’ve used super pricy to the super cheap and everything in between and this is great. You can go dramatic or just use one coat for a more natural look. Try with a slim cat eye liner and a couple individual lashes and it’s gorgeous. Overall it gives you volume, length and thickness, separation with a few coats. It can be simple or dramatic.

Ah wouldn’t it be nice…

Sometime I put collage together of items that I have my eye on and above are just a few items. I like mentally spending my wages even before they make it to my bank account. I’m not sure what I will purchase next but I can tell you it definitely won’t be the Chanel watch but a girl can dream…

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes-

unnamed-2

I have seen countless girls apply their makeup with those dirty brushes that have been building up dirt at the bottom of their makeup bag for months. Cleaning your brushes is crucial for keeping the quality of your brushes in tact for a long time, but most importantly, your skin will become the victim if you do not keep your brushes clean. Here’s a step-step guide to clean your makeup brushes! Continue reading

Perfect Eyebrows Every time

QUICK TAKE: Water Resistant, Long Lasting, Natural

Like most girls I am super picky about my brows, so I’ve been looking for a product that would give me a natural look but one I could easily control. My favorite product is Dipbrow Pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills it is amazing!

This product is really pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I use very little product to fill in my entire brow. I’ve been using this product for 3 months now and have used less than half of the jar. The formula is also long lasting, so my brows are perfect all day. I love the color options too! They recently added new colours so you’re sure to find the perfect match. There is such a get range of options. I am constantly getting compliments on my brows.

I simply brush it along the bottom line of my brows with an angle brush and brush upward with the spool brush on the other end of the brow brush. You must have a spool brush to even out the product. When I first started using it I was very nervous that my brows would look to strong because it’s so highly pigmented. I defiantly would recommend you practice and use a steady hand I’ve embedded a video demonstrating how to use it, I found this videos very helpful, enjoy!

Dirty Little Secret

photo-4

I have my fair share of dirty little secrets. Take, for instance, the fact that I actually enjoy Kourteny & Khole Take the Hampton’s or that I eat peanut butter right out of the jar. Oh, and here’s another, I always wear makeup to the gym. Funny thing is that most people would find that last one the most egregious. But before you (like my friends & gym mates) jump down my throat or post incredulous comments below, let me explain.

No I’m not sporting a smoky eye with a bold lip before I jump on the elliptical. I simply just touch up my face with a swipe (or, okay two) of my tinted moisturizer. Put a little gloss on to give my lip some colour. The odds are that I’m not alone in my pre workout prep so here are few of my tricks and potions to give me the I woke up like this look.
